Troilus is a closed open pit gold, copper and silver mine located in northwestern Quebec, 120 km from the Cree community of Mistissini and 175 km from Chibougamau. The mine was in operation from 1996 to 2010 and was owned by Inmet Mining Corporation which was subsequently taken over by First Quantum Minerals Limited in 2013.
Troilus was one of the first projects in Canada to establish an Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA) with Firest Nations, signed in 1994. The ongoing management at the site includes the overview of tailings pond water and water treatment.
